Trail users on the Mad River Trail (8) have a new, more direct route to reach Webster Street, the Second Street Market and other destinations in Dayton's Water Street District (such as Day Air Ball Park). A recently-completed ramp from the trail, up the levee, and to Webster Street has been opened by the Miami Conservancy District. With funding assistance from the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission, this new $250,000 ramp improves commuter access to Tech Town and for the residents of Water Street and Webster Station.
The ramp runs along the levee top for about half of its quarter-mile length. It includes two new areas with benches, trash receptacles, and dispensers for pet waste bags. The benches provide nice views of the Mad River and the Webster Street Bridge, which is colorfully illuminated at night.
Connections to the Miami Valley Trails are added year-after-year building on the convenience of this great network.
