Detour at Findlay Street

A City of Dayton Stormwater Outfall project will have the trail slightly detoured.

Where the Mad River Trail goes under Findlay Street in Dayton, a City of Dayton project with the stormwater outfall will result in detouring the trail to cross Findlay at street level. The project will include construction of a new ramp from the Mad River Trail to East Monument Avenue on the east side of Findlay. It will also use the existing ramp from Findlay to the Mad River Trail on the west side of Findlay. Trail users are advised to use the pedestrian crossing on the north side of Monument Avenue to cross Findlay Street.

The construction of the new ramp (east side) is expected to start this week. The project is expected to have the trail detoured through May of 2025.

The image below shows the planned detour.

The detour is actually shorter than the existing trail, however with the at-grade crossing may take more time, and feel less comfortable for some trail users.
